Designed by the late Irish Architect Liam McCormick, The Weeping Elm restaurant is the perfect match for exceptional food.
"If you want grandeur, head to Rathmullan House...excellent local ingredients cooked with élan amidst the luxury of a beautiful house. The same quality in France would cost twice as much.” - John McKenna, Irish Independent.
The Weeping Elm counts many blessings as far as dining is concerned. The walled garden provides the kitchen with organic fresh fruit, vegetables and herbs. We are also a supporter of the ‘slow food’ movement. Our seaside setting means fresh fish and seafood, while rich local farmland produces specialities like Donegal lamb.
Menus are based on the very best of local and artisan foods – and, working closely with organic gardener, Dennis Hawke, our chefs create dishes around fresh produce from our own restored walled garden.
...anyone with so much as a passing interest in good food or gardening should make a point of slipping through the gate at the back of the car park to spend some time here, as this highly productive garden is immaculately maintained and a joy to visit.
